Successful Aging
Successful aging is multidimensional, encompassing the avoidance of disease and disability, the maintenance of high physical and cognitive function, and sustained engagement in social and productive activities.

Aging in Place
Aging in Place is one of the initiatives of the New River Valley Agency on Aging. The Aging in Place team, involving representatives of several community organizations, has produced a workbook to help plan for contingencies associated with aging. The workbook also includes five videos, one each for the five areas of concern. The Aging in Place workbook is an excellent tool for making a plan for successful aging.
